Introduction:
At Centricity, we aim to make learning interactive and fun through the development of learning
content that keeps young students engaged whilst they learn and prepare for digital citizenship in a
world characterised by constant technological change.
Our program - Centricity ePrimary series:
Our courses are designed to be culturally relevant, and in alignment with curricula from the
Caribbean / Africa (WAEC-Ghana) / Commonwealth, and can be used by teachers / home school
facilitators, as complimentary blended learning resources at the primary level. As such, they can be
used particularly where subjects such as ICT, have been integrated in the curriculum.
We have incorporated elements of the 4Cs into our lessons: communication, collaboration, creativity,
and critical thinking, also elements of discovery to foster self-confidence, and to help students develop
a culture of innovation. Emphasis is also placed on providing interactive learning experiences which
facilitates the development and application of problem-solving. Students are encouraged to begin early
enquiry by asking open-ended thought-provoking questions such as, what is coding, how does a robot
actually move, where is the Internet Of Things (IOT), what is a Network and what is Artificial
Intelligence (AI).
Students are also encouraged to develop Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills by sharing their
computer devices with each other, taking personal and social responsibility (taking care of the
environment / climate change) and using technology responsibly. Examples of which are contained in
our ICT Modules “Taking care” and “Digital Citizenship”.
