Term Definition

Run (execute) To action the commands in a program

Search Engine A special website (like Google or Kindle) that helps you find information on the

internet by typing in keywords

Screen Time The amount of time spent using a device with a screen, like a tablet, computer, or
TV

Selection Part of a program where if a condition is met, then a set
of commands is run

Server A networked computer that manages, stores, and provides data such as files
to other computers

Software The programs and instructions that tell the hardware what to do. You can't touch
software—it's the "brain" of the computer

Spam Unwanted or junk email messages, often trying to sell you things. It's best to

delete them or tell an adult

Streaming Watching a video or listening to music directly from the internet without having

to download the whole file first

Stored (data) Data kept digitally so that it can be accessed by a computer
